| | Downloads I have Vista Home Premium. When I download items from the internet, they seem to go nowhere. I select a location, the dialogue box shows it downloading, then the dialogue box disappears and I cannot find the files. Does anyone know where they might go? This problem just started this past Sunday. I tried to do a restore point, but I cannot go back past a day or two. In XP, restore showed a calendar to select a restore point. Any help is greatle appreciated. Also, I eeven tried to download to a cd and it show the download progressing, but when I went to the cd, it wasn't there. |

| | Re: Downloads I'm assuming you use IE7? When you go to the folder where you downloaded the file, do you see a "Compatibility Files" button on the Windows Explorer toolbar? If so, click it and it will take you to the virtualstore.. Here's a link to similar situation... perhaps it will help? http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/view...2708&sliceId=1 -- http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview "Greg G" <GregG@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:1AE183CE-4140-442F-892A-E5F20DD9AAB6@xxxxxx Quote: > Downloads, desktop. | | Re: Downloads I have the same problem when downloading a file to my desktop. The file does not appear but if I use Explorer to navigate to my desktop I see it. A workaround is create a new folder Desktop/Downloads. See if that works for you. | | Re: Downloads Hi Greg, I think this is what you are looking for... Quote from the net: when you click on the download link, the download box appears. on this box you find its like run or Save, click on Save and you will find a checkbox "close this dialog box when download completes" . just uncheck this . End Quote Now the box will stay open and you can open the folder where you downloaded to. -- All the best, SG "Greg G" <GregG@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:1AE183CE-4140-442F-892A-E5F20DD9AAB6@xxxxxx Quote: > Downloads, desktop. | | Re: Downloads No Avail. I have tried what you and SG wrote but nothing. I cannot even download anything to a flash drive. No downloads from IE 7 are going anywhere, but it goes through the download process. "Bob" wrote: Quote: > I have the same problem when downloading a file to my desktop.
