| | Merged 'Saved Games' w/ 'Public'... Hello all, I made a big boo boo... We have two profiles on our Vista machine. I've gone through and merged a number of our personal folders (Pictures, Videos, Music, etc.) with the Public versions of these folders - effectively creating a single folder that both profiles can access easily. The oopsie is that when I went to merge the Saved Games folder on my profile with the Public Saved Games folder, I clicked a little too soon. Now, in my personal folder I have a folder named Saved Games, but when opened it, it has the contents of the Public folder... All is well on the other profile. I've tried renaming the Saved Games folder to Public, but that option isn't available. I've tried copying the contents, deleting the Saved Games folder, and creating a new folder - No luck... Any suggestions? Yeesh... -Dreux |

Try the 'Restore Default' button on the 'Location' tab of the Properties dialog for your Saved Games folder. -- Good Luck, Keith Microsoft MVP [Windows Shell/User] "Dreux" <Dreux@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:FB56D8EE-DF16-4E3C-956F-CF6E5584DE34@xxxxxx Quote: > Hello all, > > I made a big boo boo... | | Re: Merged 'Saved Games' w/ 'Public'... Hey Keith, Unfortunately, there is no 'Location' tab in the properties for that folder... | | Re: Merged 'Saved Games' w/ 'Public'... Does the Public folder still exist under 'C:\Users' ? What folder opens if you type the command: shell:savedgames from the Start Search box? That is the folder that Windows thinks is your saved games folder. Try the same with: shell ublicThat should open the folder Windows thinks is your public folder. Are they the same? If your comfortable with basic registry work, run regedit & export the following key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders] Also, open a command prompt & type: set public<Enter> What are the results of that? Be aware that this situation can be made more confusing by desktop.ini files providing a display name for folders that is different from the actual folder name. Click once in the breadcrumb bar to see the actual folder path. Post back & we can get this fixed. -- Good Luck, Keith Microsoft MVP [Windows Shell/User] "Dreux" <Dreux@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:C161991B-D1D6-41FF-822E-07FD193F26FD@xxxxxx Quote: > Hey Keith, > > Unfortunately, there is no 'Location' tab in the properties for that > folder... > > "Keith Miller (MVP)" wrote: > Quote: >> Try the 'Restore Default' button on the 'Location' tab of the Properties >> dialog for your Saved Games folder. >> >> >> -- >> Good Luck, >> >> Keith >> Microsoft MVP [Windows Shell/User] >> >> >> >> "Dreux" <Dreux@xxxxxx> wrote in message >> news:FB56D8EE-DF16-4E3C-956F-CF6E5584DE34@xxxxxx Quote: >> > Hello all, >> > >> > I made a big boo boo...
