    Search inside document

    HI

The advance seacrh seem to have less option. Under XP we had the possibility
    to search inside document.

    Is their any tool that could enhance the search criteria other than Name;
    Tag. Author?

So far i have better result using copernic then the serahc tool of vista.

Anyone can tell if the SP1 of vista will enhance this part of vista?

Vista's SEARCH box automatically searches within files as well as file
names and locations, there is no need to have a seperate "Search within
    files" check box.

If you can't find a text string within a file then you can use Advanced
Search to search in non-indexed locations.

You mean, it should automatically search within a file.
But many times over it won't find the file.
Look at my topic of how the Windows Search just doesn't work correctly.
And believe me I tried every available option there is, including your
    option and all others.
I have a .txt file in an indexed location and vista just won't find that file.
Also rebuilding the index doesnt help, nothing helps.
And my win2000 computer finds this file over the network in seconds.

Somehow the windows search tool for vista doesn't work correct.

And Luc. if you are using Copernic at this moment. stick with it, as
Microsoft has no intention what so ever in correcting the bugs in the search
    tool.
I just switched to Copernic as well.
But it is just crazy, to have to pay for a search tool, after paying all
    that money for Vista.
The official statement I got from Microsoft, was to switch to a third party
    search tool like google desktop.
And that is just completely insane.

    Just my 2 cents

    Thanks'

For sharing yout comment, like many we have some desapointment versus Vista.
I heard it was compare to Millenium edition.

Also Microsoft is rushing to come out with the next version for 2008/09 hope
fully , like MAC for Iphone, i will be please to have a special upgrade
price (less then 49$ for those 0 to 3 month, 99$ for 3 to 6 month) for early
    adopter Cost nothing to ask....

Thank for proposing Google application but i am more a yahooist. The first
tool they offer was with X1, one of the best tool i found. But for some
reason i stick with copernic, perharps because we are from the same city

So far google apps are free but i found them worstly buid in term of
interface. Last time i look the desktop search was like searching the web,
the result he gave was usless for me.

I believe that is time for browser to update their result page, many time i
got hundred of result and the one that could best answer me is at the last.

OUPSSSSSSSSSS will stop here because i deviate from the initial topic

Hope that his will be more than 2 cents hihihihi

    have a nice day all
