empty "new" menu when i right click on the desktop in vista

    empty "new" menu when i right click on the desktop in vista

    just got a new computer with vista and when i right click on the desktop and
    go to the "new" menu, it's empty. no "create folder" or "create shortcut" or
    anything at all. it just says (empty). any ideas?
