Issue With Hidden Files & Folders

I have enabled viewing hidden files and folders. Still, some folders and
files are hidden from me! Here is an example: I navigate to eMule folder,
which should contain Incoming folder, but does not. I start up eMule, go to
Tools and select Go To Incoming Folder and the folder opens up normally
showing the files I have downloaded. This problem also exists with a game I
own. I'm not able to view the map files I have created with the game. Yet
when I start the editor and choose to open a previous map file, it is nicely
there in the folder it is supposed to be in.

What the hell is going on?

Re: Issue With Hidden Files & Folders

Uncheck "hide protected system operating files"

Re: Issue With Hidden Files & Folders

probably because they are under your "USER" folder structure.
pick a name for a file you know to exist and search for it.
here is where some of mine are for example.

C:\Users\"user"\AppData\Local\VirtualStore

Re: Issue With Hidden Files & Folders

Could be a compatibility issue.

Re: Issue With Hidden Files & Folders

I'm guessing that eMule is not Vista compatible and is trying to store data
in a system folder like Program Files. Browse to the eMule folder. Do you
see a button on the tool bar labeled Compatibility Files? Click on it.

Re: Issue With Hidden Files & Folders

I have a similar problem with Savegames. Baldurs Gate 1. I save the game when playing and when i enter the game files C/Program Files x86/Black Isle/Baldurs Gate/Save the saves are not there.

I tried to run a character/save editor, ONE of them actually sees the files and can modify them but doesnt have an option to copy them, other three editors dont even show them.

(The game also provides some ready saves just after installing, THOSE i can actually open and find normally. The missing ones are only those made by me afterwards.)

Ill say it again - i can play normally but i cant COPY my saves from the game file.

Unchecked "hide protected system operating files"
Enabled "viewing hidden files or folders"
Unchecked hiding extensions of known files (if it has any connection)

I cant seem to find the Compatibility File? or something i dont really seem get the idea of it yet, but i read somewhere they might be there, which i doubt anyway.

PLEASE help me i want my saves. : )

PS. Same thing happened when i played Sacred but the editor found the files and i could copy them with it, now i CANT. Both games dont save the files in Documents, only in the game file i presume.
