| | vista installation I installed a clean version of vista. during installiation it took my old files and stored them in a file named windows old. is there a way to reinstall my old settings and files? |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: vista installation If it was a clean install, it would have involved formating the hard drive. There should have been nothing left over from the old install since it would have been wiped out. Was this a Upgrade install instead? You should be able to copy the files you want out of the windows.old folder and paste them where you like in your new installation. Hope this helps, Shawn |
