| | How do I show all files at once when they r spread between many fo I have about 3,500 files, spread between about 1,500 folders, and I want to view all files at once in one big list. I was wondering is it possible to extract all the files from the folders and put them in one big list. I have windows xp. |

| | Re: How do I show all files at once when they r spread between many fo If the files have something in common e.g. their name or extension, you can search by that and cut and paste the files into a new folder. This is a Vista forum not XP. In the future, please post to the appropriate forum. Quote: > I have > windows xp. here in VISTA file management. ;^} I don't know about VIEWING 3,500 files at once, but you probably can print a list of them all - if you insist. Have a look at: How to add the Print Directory feature for folders in Windows XP and in Windows Vista http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=321379 RC -- R. C. | Vista Enterprise 32-bit | Re: How do I show all files at once when they r spread between many fo If they are subdirectories under one folder, you could do a dir/s or dir/s/w at the command prompt, and pipe it to a text file: dir /s > C:\test.txt |

| | Re: How do I show all files at once when they r spread between many fo You can use a search and use * or *.* as the search parameter, then all files and folders will show up in the search window. | | Re: How do I show all files at once when they r spread between many fo You can add a "Folder path" column in details view and sort by that column. However it sorts and lists the folders first, then completes the list with the files sorted by their folder path.
