automate indexing service installation in Vista?

Does anyone know what's required to automate the installation of the
legacy indexing service (CISVC) in Vista?

In XP/2000 I was able to accomplish this by simply setting some
registry entries, but it appears that this isn't the case in Vista.

After specifying the appropriate registry entries, it seems cisvc.exe
must somehow be extracted because the executable is nowhere to be
found unless I manually enable the service in "Turn Windows features
on or off."

Once the feature is manually enabled, the executable "appears" and the
service and my custom settings function normally.

Thanks in advance for any insight.
