In a Windows Explorer window, highlight a .doc file (or multiple files by
using the Ctrl key) and in the Details Pane on the bottom of the window,
click on Tags: Add a Tag
type in your tag, and click on "Save"
Not sure about .mdi files, as only some files can be tagged.
