| | RE: Vista: Windows Explorer missing button for navigate up Hello Mike, I am trying to find out the answer to the same question. Alt-UP works, but there must be a mouse button too. Very strange it is gone. I also find the new folder view less easy to see at a glance what level/folder you are viewing... Levels should be indented more. Mark. | | Re: Vista: Windows Explorer missing button for navigate up The UP button seems to have been taken out of Vista because it is no longer necessary with the revamped explorer. You can now click on any directory in the current path and be taken there. For example if you are in the 'Users' directory, you can just click the 'Local Disk' directory in the address bar and be taken there. Or if you wish, you can click multiple levels up and be taken straight to the desired directory instead of the many blind UP clicks you would use in XP. | | Re: Vista: Windows Explorer missing button for navigate up It's amusing to see people justify the removal of the up button because they say it's redundant. Nobody seems to mention the iclusion of a button for Burn. They took away 'up, cut, paste, copy, copy to, move to, delete' and gave us 'Burn'. This is an improvement?
