Shared Folder by Multiple Users in VISTA?

I want to set up shared folders for documents (excel, word, music, pictures,
pdf, powerpoint, etc) in Vista without having to switch back & forth between
users

Also is there a function like Windows Explorer in VISTA?

Re: Shared Folder by Multiple Users in VISTA?

That's what the \Users\Public folders are for.... files placed here will be
available to all users on the PC, and are automatically shared on a network.

Windows Explorer is still here... it just looks a little different.
click on Start - Computer

or, click on Start, and type "explore" in the start search box

Re: Shared Folder by Multiple Users in VISTA?

Most programs allow you to set the default path for saving files.
Check the Options or Preferences for the program.

Or, easiest of all, hold down the Windows key, and press "E."

Re: Shared Folder by Multiple Users in VISTA?

That would depend on the application....
in Word 2003: Tools - Option - File Locations
in Excel 2003: Tools - Options - General - Default file location
in Windows Photo Gallery: File - Options - Import - Import to:
etc.

Re: Shared Folder by Multiple Users in VISTA?

You might be able to change your documents folder to the public folder. I
made my downloads folder the public downloads folder, but I have not tried
this with the documents folder.
Right click Documents, select properties. Select the location tab. Select
the Move.. button and make your changes.
