DVD archiving between systems

I used a DVD burner to save and archive data files from my Windows Me
desktop. However, I am unable to retrieve and read files on two of the DVDs
with my Windows Vista Home Premium laptop (Dell Inspiron). How come?

Re: DVD archiving between systems

Hi, Curtis

Can you perform those tests, please:

1) Can you read the files in the same Windows ME computer that generated
the DVDs?
2) Can you read the files in another computer (not the Windows ME that
generated it, nor the Vista you are having trouble with)?

Thanks

Re: DVD archiving between systems

1) Yes, I have no problem reading the files on the DVD with the external DVD
burner that I have connected to the Windows Me desktop.

2) I tried to read the same DVD with my Windows XP Professional computer at
work
but the drive on the computer apparently can read only CDs, not DVDs.
