How to manipulate the Start menu (Vista premium home)

Vista premium home sp1

When ever I try to reorganize the Start menu, I'm told I cannot modify
that folder.

I have an administrator account and have turned UAC off from
Control Panel/user accounts. However if I click on
`C:\users\MYUSER\Start Menu'

I'm told `File location is not accessable
Access denied'

How can I arrange the Start menu in some less dysfunctional way?
Currently when I click on Start Menu/All programs I get a long list
with no organization. I'd prefer a heirarchy of my own design. And on
xp I could go to the Start Menu folder and organize anyway I liked.

Re: How to manipulate the Start menu (Vista premium home)

Hi,

Your Start Menu is located here:
C:\Users\MYUSER\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu

'C:\users\MYUSER\Start Menu' is not a real folder, it is a junction point
for backwards compatibility, hence your being unable to access it.
