Profile issue with Easy Transfer

Hi.
I bought my wife a new Vista Home Premium notebook to replace her old
XP one.

When I used the Easy Transfer prg and the Companion, everything worked
EXCEPT that her profile from the XP machine was created on the Vista
one.
By that I mean the Admin Profile on the XP was Nancy. The Admin on the
Vista one was also named Nancy.
Yet when the Easy Transfer happened, it created a second Nancy profile.
One that had what I wanted to be in th enew one's Admin profile.

Please advise as to how to get things in the new one's Admin.

Russ

Re: Profile issue with Easy Transfer

You never use WET with Outlook. It does not work. The profiles it creates
are invariably corrupt.
Use one of the supported methods for data transfer.
Take a look at these pages for info on Outlook data backup or transfer:

Re: Profile issue with Easy Transfer

Your question is far too vague. You are asking about Windows Profiles which
have nothing to do with Outlook.
Ask your question clearly and accurately.

Re: Profile issue with Easy Transfer

My question was not really about Outlook.
When I transfered from my wife's XP to her new Visat laptop, it copied
all of her settings which were in her profile that served as the
Administrator one, to a non-Administartive profile on the new laptop.

My question is how to get her old Administartive profile to become part
of the new laptop's Admninistartive one. (So that all her files,
internet favortites and Outlook Express messages and address book would
be part of it.)

Re: Profile issue with Easy Transfer

I see. My fault. Profiles usually refers to Outlook.
You were asking about User accounts.
