Here is how to get your recycle bin back : 1. right click on an open space on your desktop 2. click Personalize 3. left panel, click Change desktop icons 4. under Desktop Icons heading, make sure checkmark the box in front of Recycle Bin 5. (same window) click Recycle Bin (Full), click Change icon 6. click recycle bin (Full), click OK 7. repeat #5 and #6, EXCEPT click recycle bin (Empty) this time 8. click Apply/OK. Your recycle bin will be back where it was. Let me know if it's ok now. |

To prevent deletion of the Recycle Bin in the future, do this.. 1. Launch regedit 2. In Regedit, navigate to the following key: HKCR\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} 3. To create a new registry Key called 'Shell', click on the Edit Menu, New, select: Key and name it 'Shell'. You should now have: HKCR\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}\Shell 4. Under Shell create a new (Sub) Key called 'Delete'. Click on the Edit Menu, New, select: Key. You should now have: HKCR\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}\Shell\Delete 5. Edit the 'Default' REG_SZ, as this is just a string value for display you could set to anything you like, for example 'YourName's Indestructible Bin'. Right-click on the Desktop, click Personalize, and in the left pane, click Change desktop icons. In the Desktop Icon Settings dialog, enable the Recycle Bin checkbox. Click OK. See also:

You can retrieve the Recycle Bin by right clicking on the desktop and
choosing "Personalize". When that box appears, the left colume says "Tasks", and "Change distop icons", and there you re-check to show the Recycle bin. "atkc1" <atkc1@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:3E639F79-58EB-4E5A-966B-E8B2418EADD9@xxxxxx
