| Moving a couple o gig from C: drive to D: drive in Vista Using the management console fro right clicking My Computer, I was able to easily shrink my C: drive by 2 gig, but when I go to expand the D: drive, "Expand" is greyed out. How do I expand D: if the menu won't cooperate? Please help; I'm stuck between the two steps. |

| RE: Moving a couple o gig from C: drive to D: drive in Vista Try defragmenting the drives, either with the inbox tool or with one from the web. There are some more powerful options for drive manipulation on the web than what is offered in the box. The are many reasons we can't always expand the partition of another drive without doing a significant amount of work. Hopefully we will improve on the inbox experience in future releases, or set expectations more appropriately. There is more information about how to get this to work on the Windows Vista Performance and Maintenance newsgroup. For example: http://www.microsoft.com/communities...r=US&sloc=&p=1 Thanks, Justin "ellen_t123" wrote:
