| Guest | finding system files I have a "spyshredder" virus and my norton tells me which files the virus has created but it doesn't tell me where to find them for their manual removal. Where do I find files with percent marks such as %UserProfile% |

| Guest | Re: finding system files Names with % surrounding them are system environment variables. If you type %UserProfile% in the start menu for example you will see what the variable value actually is. For example %Windir% shows as 'windows'. If you open a cmd.exe or command window and type 'set', you will see all your environment variables listed. "dimmy" <dimmy@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:F15CAA6C-65D2-4146-BA78-2312983C25C7@xxxxxx
