| | Vista Windows Explorer - invalid sorting Hi, has anyone noticed that Windows 2008/Vista Windows Explorer doesn't sort file entries correctly? This is how it shows 5 entries, sorted by name: 03001A36.HTM 03001A39.HTM 030014D2.HTM 030017F1.HTM 030017F4.HTM Axel Dahmen |

You might like to read this KB article: The sort order for files and folders whose names contain numerals is different in Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003 than it is in Windows 2000 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319827 RC -- R. | | Re: Vista Windows Explorer - invalid sorting Ah, I see... Damn, they could have made this a Folder Option advanced setting in Windows Explorer. I can imagine why MS has invented it, but I don't understand why "1" has become a higher value than "a".... Thanks for helping, RC! Best regards, Axel Dahmen -------------------- "R. C. | | Re: Vista Windows Explorer - invalid sorting Hi Gordon, thanks for trying to help. Strange, I've posted this question twice indeed, but Windows Mail didn't (and doesn't) show the original thread. So I can't see your original reply nor my original question from here... RC has already enlightened me on the new sorting rules. I believe that's the problem I have, particularly with regarding decimal ciphers higher than letter.
