| | searchin file contents issue in vista? I think there is an underlying problem or defficiency in Vista, with regards to searching file contents, which microsoft still has not addressed after all these months. I have set up search to search the contents of files with the "Always Search File Contents" option (it wasn't easy to figure out how to get to this option in the first place!). However, Vista will still not search the contents of my files unless I change their type to .TXT... This is not an acceptable compromise and XP did not have this very serious limitation. I have looked everywhere, and it appears that this is the only way to get Vista to look in file contents. This is both a question as well as a feature request (because I really don't think there is any way of setting up Vista to unilaterally search inside all file types). |
