Thumbnails for QuickTime movies

Hello,

I have been unable to create thumbnails for .mov (quicktime) movies.

Works fine for jpg or mpg files.

Do you know how to get this working?

Thanks.

If you do find a clean solution, I would be very glad to know it.

Re: Thumbnails for QuickTime movies

Yet, dear esieens, I did try something that wasn't too holy yet simple. And the method did work on most of my PCs.

-I did install K-Lite codec pack --the basic one--, in hopes to get the FLV files to show some thumbnails.

-I thought I had messed up some other files' thumbnail thus I did imply a fix, an AVI file fix:
File association fixes for Windows Vista

-Then I did clean the thumbnail cache (going to the actual folder and deleting them).
-I did restart the machine and then changed the association of the MOV files with anything else (trial and error matters)... and here, the machine can generate a thumbnail for them.

Don't apply this update KB 938979 for this method to be valid--This is where one of my PCs did not succeed in the process.

I don't know how that worked out; I am looking for a much direct way, may be a valid registry edit, for QuickTime files to generate a thumbnail.
