Recommended free download managers for 64-bit Vista

What are the recommended free download managers that work in 64-bit Vista?

For IE?
For Firefox?

Firefox downloads work fine for me, what particular options do you seek?

For the time being, I'm planning on not using Firefox on the Vista Notebook.
On my Win 2000 desktop, I use FreeDownloadManger with botjhIE 6 and firefox
3(using FlashGot)

Have not yet tried Firfox 3's built-n download nabager.

Built-in Firefox 3 download manager is not at all satisfactory, if my
observations are correct.

Seems that one can pause and resume a download only in the current Firefox
session.
Close Firefox, or system crashes, or, ... and you are outta luck.

Also, do not have evidence that multiple streams are used for a single file.

If those observations are correct, then a real download manager is needed.

This one works. It's compiled for 32 bit, but works fine in 64 bit. It has a
lot of great features (resume, BitTorrent support, multiple download
streams, etc.)

Yes, I use FDM in Windows 2000.
Just seeking alternatives.

Re: Recommended free download managers for 64-bit Vista

I installed FreeDownloadManager yesterday.

Only issue was that it did not tell me that I had to reboot after the
install.
Otherwise, seemed to run well using IE 7
