Re: Vista ultimate on partition

You have it right. Windows programs do not peacefully coexist with Linux.
Best, if you want less grief, is to let Vista have the MBR of the disk to
itself. When you install Linux after Vista, use the advanced setting and
put Grub on the same partition as Linux. Then boot the machine - it will go
to Vista only - download Easy BCD and use it to tell Vista where the Grub is
located. It will create the menu you need at boot to pick systems, and leave
the MBR for Vista. It all works smoothly. The next boot will give you that
menu. Then you can pick Linux, and when the transfer to Grub happens you get
the Linux dual boot that lets you continue onward or go back to Vista. Happy
computing....

Re: Vista ultimate on partition

Thank you for your reply,
I am not using Linux anyway, just way of cheat to earn a single moment of
glory, the so-called good deed by 'screaming to the world' of free program
offers [wordie]. I see some programs in Linux having the same functionalities
as those of Windows. I am not sure if they are code from scratch for these
programs, I also think if some of MS developers are free to develop
"outernal" software or not. A scary idea I am having, sorry for not
disclosing my intents to tell straight, is the illegal use of source code
without permit.

I have not use BCD before,
