| | Disappearing Windows Explorer Hi, I upgraded to Vista RC1 (32-bit) from XP Home. The installation went fine and everything appears to work correctly except for Windows Explorer. Explorer just will not come up when running in Normal mode - it will flash up for a second and then close again, every time. There is no error message and nothing I can see in te Event Logs either. And Explorer works fine when Vista is in Safe mode, so the issue seems to be limited to when Vist is running in Normal mode. I've used Autoruns from Sysinternals to disable any DLLs/shell extensions which are not standard Windows ones and that didn't seem to help. I've also tried uninstalling anything which might cause issues with Vista and that didn't seem to help either. Anybody got any ideas? A way to log everything when Explorer starts so that I can actually see what is going on? Or some other way to troubleshoot the issue? Thanks in advance for any help. Fahim -- |
