Vista - Windows main executable has stopped working

Everytime i startup vista and log on a message pops up saying Windows Main executable has stopped working.

I close these tabs down and it does not appear to effect my laptop in anyway.

Does anyone know what this message means and how to stop these tabs from popping up?

could you please post the exact detail of the message you are receiving, including any codes, as I have not heard of Windows Main executable before

BTW it may be of help if you go into the UserCP and fill in as much of your system spec as you can

Hi i've entered as much detail as possible in the user CP column.

There are no codes in the message and the message reads as follows.

its a small box with Microsoft Windows on it and the writing says:-

Main Executable has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program nd notify you if a solotion is available.

it then says close program at the bottom of the screen

I have put a screen shot to help you along.

Thanks for the extra info - Doesn't give much help as to what is causing the problem . I have to pop out now so will see if I can find out any more when I get back and post back later

Has anybody found any solutions to this crazy problem.

Not sure if this will help you out - but I was trying to download Screen Print 32 and I always received the main executiable has stopped working error - in searching the net, I found a site that said to right click on the software's shortcut and run as administrator - as soon as I did that - the program finished downloading and works wonderfully.
