| | 2.5Gb ISO DVD Image will not burn in Vista...Also, weird file problems on striped drive This is actually two questions that may or not be related, which is why I am posting them both under one topic. Downloaded (from sun.com) the latest SPARC DVD image of the install. 2.47Gb later, Vista wrote the file to the target (a srtiped drive > 170Gb in size, SCSI). Now the file will not burn because Nero claims it's not an image file... And that's AFTER it forced me to update to the version for Vista. Drive utilities detect no errors on the striped volume, and the drive performance is nominal. An ISO extraction utility I have extracted the files from the .ISO with no errors. Now: 1) Is there a known issue with .ISO files that I don't know about? 2) Is there a file system quirk that will allow sequential access of the ..ISO to extract it but a bug in Nero that prevents the burn process from executing correctly? FYI: Am already redownloading it to another drive just to see if there's something flaky in the original download. Thanks in advance, Ed |
