Where are you trying to save it? Sounds like it's saving in the wrong
directory. Do a Save As on a new document and make sure it is defaulting to
your C:\Users\your-user-account\Documents.

Or perhaps you moved the Documents folder and forgot to give us that
information.

The First Question Of Troubleshooting: If the problem is new, what changed
between the time things worked and the time they didn't?

The Second Question of Windows Troubleshooting: what is the malware/virus
status of the machine? If you think it is clean, what programs (and
versions) did you use to determine this?

Be sure the computer is clean:

Re: Vista file saving problem

Found the solution.

This issue may occur if a Windows Resource Protection (WRP) file is missing
or is corrupted.

Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as
administrator.
type - sfc /scannow

Tkx for everyone who posted their ideas.
