File extensions

I'm a newbie here. I would like to be able to open a few pictures with the
file extensions of .mix and .orig.. I don't like 3rd party software on my
computer. Is there a program thru Microsoft that will help me? If Microsoft
can't help me, I would be willing to download another program. Thanks

Nothing native in the OS unless you want to try and open the .orig
w/Notepad. We'd need to know where you got the files, what they are
supposed to be, etc. to give any kind of educated guess about the .orig
file.

I can't imagine that Paint would open your.orig files because that isn't a
general image file extension. Of course, you could always try opening them
in IrfanView, which opens many different types of image files.
