| | Windows Explorer Drag and Drop Bug - Copies to Wrong Folder Level? I just got a new Vista64 PC last weekend, and I think I discovered a bug while copying my daughters iTunes library from an external drive to the new HD. I have been using drag and drop for years, usually with right clink to confirm actions, so I'm no novice here. I kept having problems when selecting the iTunes folder and dragging on top of the iTunes folder on the destination drive, but instead the folder would be copied to a folder one level down, below the iTunes folder, creating duplicates. I must have tried this 6 or 7 times, before I purposely dropped the source folder one level up on the destination folder tree - this gave me the result I wanted. Has anyone else seen this? This was using both Details and Files views, using 2 separate instances (windows) of explorer - copying one to the other. |

| | Re: Windows Explorer Drag and Drop Bug - Copies to Wrong Folder Level? Hi, benneyb. The drag and drop still works fine, but watch closely when you try it. If you hold your finger on the right mouse button as you drag, you should see a small pop-up window that says something like "Move to iTunes". Move the mouse up and down slightly and you should see that change to the name of the next folder up or down. Be sure that it says iTunes before you release the button. Then you should get the context menu to choose Copy or Move or Create shortcut - or cancel. In some situations, we get a dark line between existing locations to show just where the moved file/folder will end up. As we always say, "It works for me!" ;^} RC -- R. C.
