Denied Permission to windows.old files! PLEASE HELP!

When I try to access my documents in windows.old (to copy to Vista my
documents) I get the message:
"You have been denied premission to access this folder"
so I click the security tab and get
"The requested information is either unavaiable or cannot be displayed"
I am using the administrator account!

RE: Denied Permission to windows.old files! PLEASE HELP!

Have you tried going to control panel-folder options-view and selecting "view
hidden files". I was able to copy all of my windows.old files from Beta 2
into a new profile in RC1 by doing this.

No, that's not the problem; the files are readable all right, they're just
read-only. You can't rename them, delete them, overwrite them, etc. Even when
I'm booted into Windows XP, I can't write into the system directory of my
Vista partition.

Take ownership of the folder

Right click on the folder, properties, permissions, security, advanced,
owner.
