regtrans-ms and blf files

I have a questions you may be able to help me with.
The route of my User directory has accumulated a lot of .blf (21) and
.regtrans-ms (42) files which are taking up over 22 Mb of disk space
Examples are:
ntuser.dat{0ad09973-e8c7-11db-b39d-0019d1481925}.TM.blf
ntuser.dat{0ad09973-e8c7-11db-b39d-0019d1481925}.TMContainer00000000000000000001.regtrans-ms
Are these files needed? At what stage can they be deleted and the space
regained?
