| | Drag n drop organising..suggestion This builld is really very stable. I would like to suggest, for a way to move or copy a file/folder using drag and drop.. Vista has a new more functional address bar on all explorer windows..using which one can go to any folder up or down the current folder view by clicking the small triangle in the path shown in the address bar. What I would like to suggest is that when dragging a file/folder to this triangle, the same menu should pop up so that we can move/copy files through dragging to any folder that lists in the popup menu. And not only move/copy files to the next folder in up/down direction, but to folders further deep the folder line.. This feature addition would be really a boost in managing/organising files.. Thanks. ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. | | RE: Drag n drop organising..suggestion Hi, You can do what you want by selectng the small arrow at the bottom left next to folders. This brings up the same list and you can drag and drop. I also like that it tells you where you are dragging and dropping. -- Paul "ashjas" wrote: > This builld is really very stable. > I would like to suggest, for a way to move or copy a file/folder using drag > and drop.. > Vista has a new more functional address bar on all explorer windows..using > which one can go to any folder up or down the current folder view by clicking > the small triangle in the path shown in the address bar. > What I would like to suggest is that when dragging a file/folder to this > triangle, the same menu should pop up so that we can move/copy files through > dragging to any folder that lists in the popup menu. > And not only move/copy files to the next folder in up/down direction, but to > folders further deep the folder line.. > > This feature addition would be really a boost in managing/organising files.. > > Thanks. > > > ---------------- > This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the > suggestions with the most votes. | | RE: Drag n drop organising..suggestion Yes indeed..in folder pane ,this can be done...I just didn't use the folder pane till now...thank you for pointing this out. But if this could be done from the address bar itself don't u think it would be much more obvious to users? I tried to suggest this feature to vista suggestions page..but there was an error while submitting. And is there enough time left now to implement this in vista now,,i think not enough.. Anyways ,thanks for pointing out the folder pane workaround.. "PaulB" wrote: > Hi, > You can do what you want by selectng the small arrow at the bottom left next > to folders.
