| Guest | ? How to: Folder Redirection / Stand-alone Vista ? System: Stand-alone Vista Drive 0: 4 Partitions (C=MBR, D=Data, R=ASR, S=Software) Drive 1: 4 (Do Not Use) Partitions that are Sync'd with each Drive 0 Partition Concern: How to Redirect the default location for Documents within a Vista Stand-alone system. The system is implemented as a stand-alone within an environment that has the C:\ assigned as the MBR. ASR images resides within R:\. Software resides within S:\ and all Data reside on D:\. The intention is to Redirect the Documents Folder from within C:\Users, and the Sub-Folders to reside within D:\. Therefore allowing an ASR Recovery... with no concern for the users documentation within the C:\Users directory. At this time, after implementing a Folder Redirection to the D:\ destination, the original C:\Users Documents directory is deleted. It is at the time of deletion, the system begins to have a variety of errors and notifications of the inability to locate a source. Further research leads to the understanding that the C:\Users Directory is the default and the intended D:\ destination is a Virtual Folder and not actually redirecting the default source. Therefore I welcome your comments and/or suggestions to gain an additional understanding. Should you prefer to have additional information, please respond to inquire. An up front "Thank You" for your time and reply, ... TJ |
