Re: Data Transfer from internal hard drive

Well, I can tell you that I was using my hd as the only XP drive in one
computer, and just installed vista ona new machine, plugged it into that
mahcine, and it sees everything. Both are SATA drives.

I did something similar many times during the beta testing. In my XP box
that had two hard drives - one for the OS and one for data - I would
disconnect both drives and throw in a third for Vista. After the install
I'd reconnect the data drive. Vista saw it every time and had no problem
using it. So you'll be fine.

Re: Data Transfer from internal hard drive

You won't have a problem at all with that. I have several in removable
HD's. I take them to work and back between Vista and XP machines. Works
like a charm, no reactivation, etc. It just goes.

Re: Data Transfer from internal hard drive

Will this process work for an internal hard drive placed in the expansion slot as well?
