| | Re: Data Transfer from internal hard drive Well, I can tell you that I was using my hd as the only XP drive in one computer, and just installed vista ona new machine, plugged it into that mahcine, and it sees everything. Both are SATA drives. -- Sandman Your village called... they want their idiot back! In my XP box that had two hard drives - one for the OS and one for data - I would disconnect both drives and throw in a third for Vista. After the install I'd reconnect the data drive. Vista saw it every time and had no problem using it. So you'll be fine. Malke -- Elephant Boy Computers www.elephantboycomputers.com "Don't Panic!" MS-MVP Windows - Shell/User |

| | Re: Data Transfer from internal hard drive You won't have a problem at all with that. I have several in removable HD's. I take them to work and back between Vista and XP machines. Works like a charm, no reactivation, etc. It just goes. ![]() Dustin Harper dharper@vistarip.com http://www.vistarip.com Dale wrote: > I just installed vista home prem (full) I have a seperate 40 g HD which i > used a slave drive on old xp system. It has pics and video on it.
