| | Moved Default Video Folder, Can't Move it back. As always, thanks in advance for any help. I have a fresh install of Vista Ultimate. I have a second Hard Drive in the system and I wanted to move the VIDEOS folder to that drive. I right clicked on the VIDEOS folder and changed the location. However, I changed it to the Root Drive (E without a folder there. Now the VIDEOS folder is gone, and Icannot restore it back to it's previous location. It is not on the C or E drives or anywhere else. Any ideas? Thanks Always, Steve |

| | Re: Moved Default Video Folder, Can't Move it back. Under the <UserName> folder ON YOUR DESKTOP, not under 'C:\Users', do you have an icon for your E: drive that has a 'Location' tab? If so, that's your video folder, use the 'Restore Default' button on that tab to recreate the default folder. If not, try opening the 'Run' dialog, <WinKey+R>, and typing: shell:my video<Enter> If the folder has been deleted, that will recreate it. If you get an error saying "Windows cannot find 'shell:my video'...", then open the registry editor, <WinKey+R> regedit, and navigate to: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders" In the right-hand pane, look for a value named 'My Video', if it doesn't exist, create it by right-clicking & selecting 'New' -> 'Expandable string value'. Either way, edit its data to read: "%USERPROFILE%\Videos" Log off & log back on, then open the Run dialog and type: shell:my video<Enter> and you should be back in business. -- Good Luck, Keith Microsoft MVP [Windows XP Shell/User] "SF" <SF@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:1DFBEA8E-4BCD-42E4-9DB1-A1C072316026@microsoft.com... > As always, thanks in advance for any help. > > I have a fresh install of Vista Ultimate.
