What kind of error message do you get?
Do the CD-R's work in Windows XP? CD-R's tend to detioriate in quality
quite fast, not all readers may read them.

Re: Cant load my backup cd-r's who are burned in XP!

It works fine in XP.
In Vista react the system even not that i have put a cd in the reader. The
reader is the same as i have burned it (and read it from XP).

By the way. My cd with Norton Internet Security is blocked by Vista. Is it
just because Vista knows the program whant work?
Here does i get a message who sais that it is blocked and a buttom to give
them feedback and to see a reason for the block.

Are you sure that your CD drive is being recognized by Vista? I'm not
having any problems with my CD drives reading any of my burned CDs.

RE: Cant load my backup cd-r's who are burned in XP!

I'm having the same problem. Vista will not autoload any cd burned in XP.
(Same hardware, just did a reinstall with Vista.) Vist does recognize the
drive and shows the used and available space on the disk, but treats the cd
as a new blank one. very strange and annoying. A fix would be great!

I have the same problem too. I have a whole spindle of CD-R's that I burned in XP, that work fine in XP. When I load them into the drive on my new vista 64-bit system (same drive as was on the XP system), the disks show as blank CD's, although the used space is properly displayed. I have the latest firmware installed for my drive.

I don't have this problem but I've read other posts similar to yours that
tired CDRoller with some luck. Used mostly on disc that used packet writing
programs to burn this program might also work. It's worth a try.

Re: Cant load my backup cd-r's who are burned in XP!

anyone know of a free program to use to recover the data? I still have this issue! The CD window comes up, has the folder that the CD contains, properly named, but says it's empty. Double clicking into the folder shows empty. But, the disc is 484MB full. Anyone?
