How to disable full row select in details mode ?

I want it to be like Windows XP in which only the filename was selected.
There
must be a workaround or hack to disable it ?

The only way I know to do this is to switch to List View. In Details view
the entire line will always be highlighted. This was actually one of the
most requested changes for Windows Explorer when in details view.

Re: How to disable full row select in details mode ?

It should be an option not a set default. How could Microsoft not allow it
to be disabled ?
