How do I unassociate files?

Need help on how to unassociate a file. I associated *.3gp with Rhapsody.
I think it would be better not associated at all. Even though I have
Roxio, I want all *.3gp files to have no program association...period.

What do I do...?

Re: How do I unassociate files?

As far as I know, this is not possible in Windows Vista. Your only option
would be to associate that extension with some other program.

Hi Darryl,

Go to this link for details on how to set by file type association defaults. Just scroll down a bit and look at the second method.

Default Programs

Hope this helps,

Hi I have the same problem with vista, i hate it, I tried so much
unassociated the file type and its impossible, but there is one way, its to
use the windows restore and i could unassociate the file, but i know that is
no so helpful when the association occurs many time ago.

Re: How do I unassociate files?

In regedit, HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
remove the entry for .3gp
