| | Maximum number of files (from network share) in Windows Explorer? Hi, Is there a limit of the number of files to display when these are coming from a network share? I have an external hard disk (LaCie Ethernet Disk mini) with amongst other things my collection of CDs and pictures. I have no problem accessing the share but Explorer won't show more than about 120 files/folders. Rightclicking on the (parent)folder and choosing properties shows a dialog that gives the correct number of files and folders. The same problem occurs when I map the network drive to this share. However, when I access this network drive from a command prompt and do a simple DIR I do see all files/folders. Any help would be appreciated, please tell me if more info is needed. |

| | RE: Maximum number of files (from network share) in Windows Explorer? Check to see if there is a firmware update for your device. Previous versions of Samba apperently have trouble with fast queries (which is standard in Vista, XP only used slow queries which works), if your device's manufacturer doesn't provide an update or if the firmware is not able to be updated, you're outta luck. | | RE: Maximum number of files (from network share) in Windows Explor Thanks! I did some more searching and it is exactly as you describe. I saw that a new driver was available. I will try that after making a backup. Thanks again, Jeroen "Michael" wrote: > Check to see if there is a firmware update for your device.
