Vista File Browser - Not Responding.

Well I'm currently running Vista Ultimate on an AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Dual
Core with 1gig of RAM, and it seems whenever I open the file browser that you
see when you click "Open" or "Save As" in programs, and the view is on
details, the whole program stops responding and has to be restarted. This
creates a massive problem, as most of the time when I click "Open" or "Save
As" it'll go straight to "Documents" which is viewed in the "Details" format,
therefore freezing the program.

So at the moment I can barely save and open anything. If anyone has a
solution it'd be much appreciated.
