| | Old XP Restore folders I have some old restore folders created from XP which are taking up a lot of space. How do I get rid of them. I have already tried the cleanup utility and also trying to change attributes then deleting, but nothing works. |

| | Re: Old XP Restore folders Just tried it. No luck. By the way, there are over 4gb of old _restore subfolders in the system volume information folder. | | Re: Old XP Restore folders You can't selectively choose which Restore folders to save or delete, but if you're sure that you want to get rid of them ALL, turn off System Restore on your computer. This will delete them. Then turn System Restore back on and manually create a restore point. Thereafter, so long as System Restore is kept on, a new Restore Point will be created approximately every 25 hours.
