| | Vista search isn't returning Excel files I am using Advanced Search in Windows Vista to find recently created files, so that I can copy them to other media. I have discovered that searching for files after, say June 30, does not return Excel files, although it does return .txt files and .html files. The location I am specifying is my Vista user name, and the Spreadsheets subfolder is located within that user name folder. Thanks for any help. |

| | Re: Vista search isn't returning Excel files Don't why yours isn't finding any (assuming that you have some that were modified since then). I can find some on my computer. \Users should be on the indexing included locations... is yours? Start - Control Panel - Indexing options Do you have the search to show "All"? or "Document"? As far as I can tell, /Users is included, and .xls and similar files are included in the index. I am searching for All. |
