Files, folders default arrangement settings

Why are tiles and autoarrange the default settings? I dont like tiles and
autoarrange, always preferred medium icons and arranged by type. Autoarrange
messes up the location of my files/folders whenever something is deleted.

OK, small gripe, just curious why is it the default setting? Cant we
configure our own default setting so we dont have to open Folder Options a
million times and choose preferred folder view which only seems to work
temporarily?

Another thing, I always like to choose the same arrange settings (i.e.
arrange by size, type, date modified, etc) even with media files THROUGHOUT
MY PC. Did anyone ever realize what a huge pain in ass it is to scroll thru
some 3 zillion arrange settings to pick your preferred ones nearly every time
you wish to arrange a folder?

Cheers,
AM

Re: Files, folders default arrangement settings

Hi Am,

If Vista is not remembering your view settings, then go to the link below and do the second method. It will reset the Vista's view memory and allow it to remember again.

Hope this helps,
