| | question about Virtual Store i have a program called MIRC and when someone sends me a file on it,it's supposed to go to MIRC>Download, but instead i click compatibility and it is there under something called Virtual Store but again it acts like it's going to Download. Is there a way to change that? Just curious. |

| | Re: question about Virtual Store In your program's Options dialog, change the default download location (path) of the folder to one that is under your account name. For example, C:\Users\(Your Name)\Downloads\MIRC Downloads (you may have to create the folder there first). Then UAC won't redirect your files. It doesn't like user files written to the C:\Program Files subdirectories. Hello, The easiest solution is to have MIRC save files to a folder inside of your user profile folder (for example, your downloads folder or your documents folder). Otherwise, you will have to edit the security on the download folder in program files to give your username access. -- -JB Microsoft MVP - Windows Shell/User Windows Vista Support FAQ - http://www.jimmah.com/vista/ |
