| | Error when deleting file, file is in use Hello, i'm a software developer and i installed Vista last week. I have the problem, that when i open a file, no matter what kind of file, even a textfile, and try to delete it after closing it, i get the message that the file ist used by a user or a process. The only way at the moment is to reboot the computer and then delete it. Can anyone tell me what happens there? The problem is: In my Development System, i compile an exe-file, and after changing the code and compile it new, the program tries to delete the file, but can't. So i have to restart the system after every single new line.. I hope anyone can help me. Martin |

| | Re: Error when deleting file, file is in use I used a product called Unlocker, http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/ in XP. Apparently it also works in Vista in the latest incarnation. You can stop and restart "explorer.exe" instead of the whole computer for a workaround until you get a better solution. Here is a link for how. Restart Explorer Shawn |
