| | Start Menu Search Box Results Display My OS is Windows Vista Business. When I use the start menu's search box, the search results items (programs, files) are always UNDERLINED, but all my programs in the Start Menu are not. This is not serious but with the lines, they are not as pleasant looking in my eyes. I have tried everything I can by digging out all options, start menu, folder view, etc and reset them to default but still in vain. Anyone can help me in this, especially those Vista experts? |

| | Re: Start Menu Search Box Results Display If I understand correctly, you don't want all your Search Results underlined. Go to Control Panel (Classic View) > Folder Options, and, on the General tab, under "Click items as follows" choose "Double-click to open an item". Or choose "Single-click", with "Underline icon titles only when I point at them"). Don't choose "Underline icon titles consistent with my browser". | | Re: Start Menu Search Box Results Display I guess something has corrupted my Start Menu options, I chose "Double click to open an item" as you said below, but the search results are underlined when mouse cursor points at them. I guess there is no solution for this. "dean-dean" wrote: > If I understand correctly, you don't want all your Search Results > underlined. | | Re: Start Menu Search Box Results Display No, I don't think it's corruption. I do see what you mean. The underline indicates that your next click will open the item, after it's highlighted. Since it's an html type list with the possibility of mixed content (program shortcuts, documents, URL's, etc.) and not really just a directory list, like All Programs (which seems to use single-click "Quick Launch" functionality), I don't think this can be changed. The Search Results list seems to work similarly to the Favorites Center pane in IE7, in this respect. | | Re: Start Menu Search Box Results Display Yes you are absolutely right, after I've read what you said, I disabled the underline links option in the Internet Explorer options. Then I checked again the search results in the Start Menu, the underlines are gone. Thanks for the brilliant idea! "dean-dean" wrote: > No, I don't think it's corruption. I do see what you mean.
