Getting rid of a dialogue box on-screen

Recently I installed a PC game and filled out the registration form on-line.
The next day when I booted up a large dialogue box appeared on my screen that
said: please choose which program you want to open this in. At the top of the
box it said Myst Uru Registration. The game is called Myst Uru Chronicles.

I do not know what happened or what this means. I have tried un-installing
the game, reinstalling ect. but I can not get rid of this box. I do not
understand what I am supposed to do and it is driving me nuts. I am not a a
highly experienced PC person but I can follow directions.

Can someone please help me?

Re: Getting rid of a dialogue box on-screen

Go to Start / Control Panel / Administrative tools / System Configuration /
Startup and identify the item causing the problem. The Command should be a
guide, but the Manufacturer might also help. You can disable the item from
this dialogue (at least to test you have found the right one), but it is
preferable if you note the Location (in full - expand the column to see it)
and if you post the details someone can advise on how to physically remove
it. Check out "Using System Configuration" in Help.
