| Guest | How can I display multi-phrase saved-search queries? How does one display the search query associated with a saved-search folder, when the search has more than one phrase? Here's what I did (you can too, if you want to reproduce the situation): 1) Open a search 2) Enter a query with multiple phrases, eg., "under:\baffin\photos and kind ictures and not foldername anoramas" (using the language athttp://www.microsoft.com/windows/des.../advanced.mspx) in the Search box (note this query has three phrases, connected by 'AND') 3) Save the search somewhere, named 'foo' or something. 4) Open the saved-search -- can you find the original query that described the search? I can't. The only phrase displayed is the 'Location'. The other two phrases are operating but are not displayed, as far as I've been able to tell. What I'd like is the text of the query returned to me (parsed into some standard format would be even better, so that I could confirm the input was parsed correctly, and to help me learn the language). Other things (does anyone at Microsoft read these postings? If you're a reader from MS, please post even just to say you saw this, just so I know): I find the 'advanced' search pane unhelpful -- it's too limited. It's easier just to type in a query phrase. The query phrase box should be larger. There should be a help button on the Search pane, eg., that points to the query language, etc. Is it true that the query is stored in xml somewhere? If so, where? How do I view it? I'm using Home Premium and Classic view. |
