| | Re: classic search I agree. Am I doing something wrong or does it not show folder name results in a search? I have a folder on my old XP desktop with my daughter's name on it and it never shows up in any search I perform. I have to go to it by the old-fashioned way in explore. :-( It searches inside documents and everything under the sun but doesn't come up with the folder in any search. I DID add the Documents & Settings folder to the seach index but this does no good. Possibly I'm just clueless. This search engine looks good if I could ever figure out how to use it. When I used Google desktop search in XP, it seemed to turn up everything. | | Re: classic search One tip, don't use explorer to seach.... use whatever they call the old startmenu now and search. then choose your option in the "show results for" (if you click on the >> it'll bring up more options like folder etc), then in the option "in" (seems to default to index) click on the small black down arrow and choose all drives and devices. | | Re: classic search You can also turn on that extra UI in a normal Explorer window by clicking the down arrow on the right side of the search box and selecting "Search Pane" from the menu.
