Is there a limit to the number of subfolders in Vista?

Is there a limit to the number of subfolders that can be in a folder?
Will the pictures folder max out with a specific number of subfolders?

Just the size of your hard drive.

MD

I don't think there is a hard number for the amount of sub-folders in a
folder. However, if you are creating folders within the sub-folders you
could possibly run into the character limit for a file name. I believe the
number is still 260 characters, including the path to the file.

Re: Is there a limit to the number of subfolders in Vista?

Oh. I see. Thanks for the information .

I only asked because when you import photos using Windows Photo
Gallery, WPG automatically creates a dated folder for the photos. Was
curious if eventually the Pictures folder would max out. But it
doesn't sound as if that will happen.

Thanks!
