Games requires DX9c of higher

Tried to install NFS Most Wanted on my Vista system (32bit Home Premium).

However, the game cancelled the installation, stating it couldn't install it
onto a system that did not have dx9c or higher installed, and suggested I
install it, before trying again.

Obviously, that's not an option, so how do I work around this problem? I'd
appreciate any help or suggestions. Many thanks in advance.

Even though Vista has dx10 you still need to install dx9c as the game
told you! Vista does not have all of the dx9c files and installing it
will add the missing files.

Re: Games requires DX9c of higher

You need to install DirectX 9c. You can find it on the Microsoft web site.
Vista has DX10, but it is missing certain DX9c components (easy
explaination).

Here's the link to the download:

Re: Games requires DX9c of higher

Sounds like a faulty version check in the installer. Have you tried running
the installer with the XP SP 2 compatibilty mode?
